Hungary names Nabucco ambassador

PM Ferenc Gyurcsány has asked Mihály Bayer, Hungary's ambassador to Moldova, to become the country's ambassador for the planned Nabucco gas pipeline project.
As ambassador for the project, Bayer will be responsible for representing Hungary's stand on the pipeline to foreign governments, businesses and scientists. He will also be involved in organizing suppliers who will use the pipeline.
Bayer will organize the preparation and the signing of inter-governmental agreements related to the project. He will cooperate with the Economy Ministry, the Prime Minister's Office and the chairman of the Hungarian-Russian Economic Cooperation Committee.
Bayer will report regularly to parliamentary committees on the progress of the project.
Bayer will leave his post in Moldova on March 31 and appear before a parliamentary committee on April 8, Daróczi said. (MTI-Econews)
