Hungary Eximbank opens HUF 500 mln credit line for cooperation between Hungarian, Austrian companies

Hungaryʼs Eximbank has opened a HUF 500 million credit line to support cooperation between Hungarian and Austrian companies, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said following his talks with Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern in Budapest yesterday.

The prime minister noted that Austria is Hungaryʼs second biggest trading partner. Some 3,000 Austrian companies are present in Hungary employing 70,000 people, he said.

Orbán said his talks with Kern were successful and that their meeting strengthened the political foundations between the countries, adding that Hungary and Austria needed to "open a new chapter" in their relations.
