The Hungarian Investment Promotion Agency (HIPA) helped coordinate decisions on 47 investments worth a combined EUR 1.3 billion in the first half of the year, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó said at a press conference today.

The investments will create 8,502 jobs, Szijjártó promised.

Nine Hungarian companies also took decisions on investments of EUR 254 million during the period, HIPA said. These investments will create a further 1,464 jobs.

Of the total investments, 18 were in the automotive industry and seven were in the business services sector.

More than 70% of the projects were reinvestments by companies already here.
