Govt signs strategic agreement with Tata Consultancy Services

Int’l Relations

Hungary's government on Monday signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the local unit of India's Tata Consultancy Services. The agreement was signed by state secretary for foreign affairs and external economy Péter Szijjártó and Dinesh P Thampi, who heads Tata Consultancy Services' service centre in Budapest. Thampi said the company was doing everything possible to implement its growth plans in Hungary and aimed to raise headcount by 200-300 from 900 at present. He added that the cooperation agreement shows Tata and the Hungarian government have common goals and will take joint steps to achieve them. He stressed that the agreement was not "tactical", but an important milestone on the way meeting long-term strategic aims. Tata Consultancy Services established its global services centre in Hungary twelve years ago.
