German delegation to assess Hungaryʼs investment environment

Int’l Relations

A delegation of German businessmen has arrived in Hungary to assess the country’s investment environment, Hungary’s Foreign Ministry told Hungarian news agency MTI on Friday.

The delegation, which includes executives whose companies are looking to invest in Hungary, or are already doing business in the country, will conduct a two-day evaluation, visiting German subsidiaries in Budapest and other parts of the country. State secretary of the Foreign Ministry László Szabó briefed the delegation on the Hungarian government’s economic policy, the statement said.

Szabó said Germany remains Hungary’s most important export market as the country’s share within Hungarian exports grew to 27.7% last year. Germany is Hungary’s number one investor, accounting for almost one quarter of the country’s FDI, he added.
