Local officials of Békéscsaba (SE Hungary) and its Romanian neighbor Arad on Saturday laid the cornerstone of a 1,300sqm exposition hall near the Békéscsaba airport.

Construction of the hall is supported with a €3.5m European Union cross-border cooperation grant, of which Békéscsaba got about two-thirds.

Arad is expanding its existing exposition facility with its share of the grant.

The combined cost of the investments is €4.2m.
