Argentina, Venezuela sign energy accord
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez on Thursday signed an energy accord with his visiting Argentine counterpart Cristina Fernandez.
Under the agreement, Venezuela’s state oil company, PDVSA, and Argentina’s energy firm Energia Argentina S.A., or Enarsa, will create a joint enterprise. The two presidents also signed agreements on agricultural cooperation. Chavez called the meeting with Fernandez an event that is to “change the history of South American countries” in radio broadcasting and TV shows. He thanked Fernandez for her visit to reinforce the bilateral relations between their two countries. “We thank (you for) your visit, your reflections, your efforts and ... (hope) to continue strengthening the bilateral relations of Venezuela and Argentina,” said Chavez in an auditorium packed with Venezuelan officials and Argentine entrepreneurs. (people.com.cn)
