Schönherr revamps CEE office for greater regional presence
Central and Eastern European corporate law firm Schönherr today announces its expansion and opening of its revitalized office in Brussels. As part of an expansion to its European Union and competition practice, partner Volker Weiss has been relocated from Vienna to the Belgian city to head up the “fully-fledged office” there.
“Reinforcing our presence in Brussels is a logical step,” said managing partner Christoph Lindinger. “We aim to be the top choice for companies from our home region in Central and Eastern Europe seeking EU law-related assistance.”
Weiss expanded on this particular sentiment with “We want to bring CEE closer to Brussels – and Brussels closer to CEE. We see a lot of market potential in advising companies in those countries which have recently acceded to the EU or are set to do so...”
Legal services offered for the CEE region via Schönherr’s Brussels office will focus on EU and competition law, including intra-EU and multijurisdictional merger control filings, cartel cases, state aid and competition compliance, but and regulatory-related advisement.
