Prime Minister Viktor Orbán discussed the establishment of a new European political grouping at a web conference with Matteo Salvini, the head of Italy's Lega party, and Mateusz Morawiecki, the Polish prime minister and deputy head of the party Law and Justice, the PM's press chief told state news wire MTI.

The sides agreed that a joint declaration on the future of Europe and the defense of nation states and traditional values issued by 16 political parties in July was a success, drawing a high degree of interest and attracting a number of political organizations and parties to the initiative in recent months, Bertalan Havasi said.

Lega, Law and Justice, Identity and Democracy, and the European Conservatives and Reformists will continue talks during the week on the concrete form of their future cooperation, he added.
