Oil prices begin trading session lower

Crude oil prices began trading Tuesday lower, dipping to $68.79 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The drop is 0.39 cents lower than its closing price of $69.18 per barrel on Monday. Trading for natural gas was up 0.007 cents at $6.947 per million British thermal units. Heating oil and gasoline also were posting lower prices as the trading session began.

The price per gallon of heating oil was $2.0260, off 0.0164 cents. Gasoline was at $2.2750, down 0.0275 cents. At the pump, the average price for a gallon of gasoline was $2.975 a gallon, down from $2.978 reported Monday, the AAA`s Daily Fuel Gauge Report said. (news.monstersandcritics.com)
