Consultancy KPMG has been assigned for the third time to serve as the verification body overseeing farming and rural development subsidies in Hungary, KPMG told MTI.

The Ministry of Rural Development has selected the verification body for the subsidies in Hungary through a public procurement tender.

KPMG has been performing these duties continually since 2006, and the auditing firm now fills the role in five European Union member states.

The 2011 verification report to be prepared by KPMG examines the Hungarian payment agency's compliance with the EU regulations and includes the auditing of the agency's financial report.
