Hungary so far allocates 70% of EU funding for 2007-2013
The allocation of about 70% of European Union funding available to Hungary during the 2007-2013 budget period has been approved and about 20% has been paid out, Jean-Marie Seyler, who heads the Regional Policy Directorate that includes Hungary, said on Friday.
The allocation rate is good compared to other EU members and the disbursement rate is in line with the average, but Hungary's system of institutions is efficient enough to raise the latter measure, Seyler said.
Seyler was speaking at an annual review of the allocation and payment of the funding available to Hungary in Gödöllő, near Budapest.
About HUF 1,100bn of EU funding has been disbursed since the change of government in the spring of 2010 and more than HUF 600bn has been allocated so far this year, said National Development Agency (NFU) chairman Zoltán Petykó.
