Forint weakens to euro on interbank market
The forint weakened to the euro on Wednesday morning's interbank market, trading at 295.90 against the single European currency at 9:45 a.m., compared to a Tuesday-afternoon rate of 295.45.
Dealers say that interbank trade has been tepid so far on Wednesday, noting that Slovakia's Tuesday rejection of the European Financial Stability Facility did not exercise a significant impact on currency rates.
The forint also weakened to the Swiss franc on Wednesday morning, trading at 238.50 to the CHF at 9:45 a.m., compared to a Tuesday-afternoon rate of 238.25.
However, the forint strengthened to the US dollar on Wednesday morning, trading at 216.78 to the USD, compared to a Tuesday-afternoon rate of 217.25.
