EC completes COVID support payments to Hungary

The European Commission said on Wednesday it completed payments to EU Member States from the EU Solidarity Fund (EUSF) to help tackle the coronavirus health emergency, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Hungary received EUR 39.7 million in total from the fund.

The European Parliament voted in May 2021 to mobilize EUR 13.1 mln for Hungary to safeguard public health and Hungary was paid a EUR 26.6 mln advance from the EUSF in November 2020.

In total 19 countries received almost EU 385.5 mln of assistance funding.
