Budapest to host European association of conference tourism meeting
Budapest is scheduled to host a meeting of the European association of national conference tourism in September, Hungarian news agency MTI cited the Hungarian state-owned tourism agency Magyar Turizmus Zrt. (MT) as saying. MT is the entity, which represents Hungary within the association.
France, Ireland, Latvia, Italy and Portugal recently joined the association bringing the number of countries represented to 22.
According to MT, Budapest jumped ahead three places, to rank 17th on the latest global list of conference tourism sites compiled by the International Congress & Convention Association (ICCA). Among the member countries, Hungary maintained the 32th position with 132 conferences, an all-time high, the agency added.
