WikiLeaks might uncover MVM and MOL as illegal party financers
Confidential US diplomacy documents recently revealed by WikiLeaks show that regulations on energy issues that was voted by the Parliament in 2009 with the support of both Fidesz and MSzP were created to favor state-owned electricity company MVM and oil company MOL instead of the state, online news portal Index reported.
The American diplomats found it a realistic idea that MOL had financed Fidesz, while MVM financed MSzP in secret and illegally, Index said. Also, the revealed documents quoted current Prime Minister Viktor Orbán telling the US diplomats that they “should no pay attention to what he says in order to be elected” back in 2006, one year before the national elections.
