German finance minister voices support for Hungary reforms

Parliament

Hungary has started up a remarkable path of reforms and Germany will support their implementation, German Federal Minister of Finance Wolfgang Schauble said at a joint press conference with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on Monday.

Mr Orban said Hungary agreed with the German stand that state debt must be repaid by the party who accrued it, calling the view "morally appropriate and economically feasible".

Mr Orban asked that Germany continue to support and observe Hungary’s structural reforms.
