Fidesz questions PM on usefulness of roving ambassador

Parliament

A main opposition Fidesz party MP asked Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány yesterday to explain how Hungary has benefited from the activities of roving ambassador Péter Medgyessy. According to Péter Ágh, it is a contradiction that while Gyurcsány was arguing for the importance of cheaper state administration in his television speech last Thursday, the travels and activities of roving ambassador and former PM Medgyessy cost Hungary Ft 70 million (€ 257,000) since last year. Ágh expects Gyurcsány to explain what concrete benefits have resulted from Medgyessy's talks and meetings in China, Mexico, the U.S.A, Canada and Monte Carlo. (MTI)
