Ex-Prime Minister Gyurcsány's immunity may be lifted

Parliament

A Hungarian parliamentary committee proposed on Tuesday that parliament suspend the immunity of former Socialist Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány, online news portal Index reported.

According to György Rubovszky, head of parliament's immunity committee, six members of the panel voted for the proposal while two voted against it. Prosecutors want to question Gyurcsány about property purchases disadvantageous for the state that were related to a huge failed casino investment in Sukoró at Lake Velence and happened during his term in office.
