Bajnai to found new party by March 15

Parliament

Former socialist prime minister Gordon Bajnai will found a new political party by the March 15 national holiday that he would then aim to lead against Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz in 2014, the former premier told Origo.hu in an interview. Bajnai stated that the new political grouping would rely on donations for its finances to assure transparency and that it would be making strong efforts to raise the interests of young voters, so far having sparked response mainly among seniors. He said that younger groups are currently afraid to aid the political opposition, something he aims to change. He added that his challenge recently issued to Orbán for a public debate still stands, after the appearance of several sponsored ads criticizing Bajnai’s premier ministerial reign as an interim permier between 2009 and 2010.
