State Secretary for Transport Says Job is Finished

With the creation of the new Ministry of Energy and the resignation of Minister László Palkovics, the Ministry of Technology and Industry will cease to exist, meaning that the current duties of State Secretary for Transport Dávid Vitézy will also end, Vitézy himself wrote on his Facebook page on Monday.

Vitézy noted that oversight of transport would go to the Construction and Investment Ministry, headed by János Lázár.

He acknowledged Palkovics and the government for their work together, adding that policymakers had "advanced in the right direction" in the past six months.

Palkovics's resignation was announced officially earlier Monday as was the establishment of an independent energy ministry.
