Some 598,000 Hungarians have registered for COVID-19 vaccination, State Secretary Csaba Dömötör said in a message posted on his Facebook page.

Dömötör said 462,000 people have registered on the website vakcinainfo.gov.hu and 136,000 have registered by post. He noted that registration numbers are an important gauge of demand for COVID-19 inoculation.

Vaccination against the coronavirus is voluntary in Hungary, with frontline healthcare workers currently the priority.
