The Modern Cities program, which currently has more than 100 projects in the development phase, will continue this year, said government commissioner Alpár Gyopáros in a video published on his Facebook page this week.

Gyopáros recalled that the Modern Cities program is a priority development program for cities with county rights, under which the unprecedented scale of development affecting 23 cities with county rights has a budget of HUF 4.2 trillion.

All cities with county status have already completed project elements of the Modern Cities program.

He added that investments would continue this year even in the current challenging economic situation.

According to Gyopáros, the government has paid HUF 2.2 tln to project owners so far.
