Ministry Dept Head Charged With Bribery

Bribery charges have been brought at the Metropolitan Court of Budapest against a department head at a government ministry, the Central Chief Prosecution Office of Investigation said on Wednesday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
The department head is charged with asking for favors, such as free golf club membership, golfing weekends, and swimming pool passes, as well as a treadmill, in exchange for expediting applications for subsidies from a hotel owner, the director of a swimming pool, and a mayor, who were also charged in the case.
The treadmill and HUF 26 million in cash were seized in the investigation.
