A coordinated cyberattack was carried out against government websites on Friday, state secretary Csaba Dömötör said, according to a report by state news wire MTI.

Government portal kormany.hu, as well as the official site for coronavirus news and the site for vaccination registration and participation in the national consultation on lifting pandemic restrictions, were affected, Dömötör said. Access to the sites was limited temporarily from some locations, he added.

The staff of the National Infocommunications Service Company (NISZ) took the steps necessary to deal with the issue. NISZ experts are working to identify the IP addresses used by the attackers and will file a criminal complaint after completing a probe of the matter.
