Gov't supports Brexit affected businesses with HUF 22 bln

The government is already advancing about HUF 22 billion of EU support to Hungarian companies struggling with Brexit this year, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó announced after the meeting of the operational corps responsible for the resumption of economic life, profitline.hu reports.
According to Szijjártó, between 2022 and 2025, approximately HUF 22 bln of funds would be available for companies in difficulty in Hungary due to Brexit, based on the decision of the European Commission.
The minister said the European Union would only provide this resource until 2025, so another economic decision was needed. "We have decided to advance this European Union funding from national sources, thus providing a tender opportunity for those companies that are now facing difficulties and challenges due to Brexit," Szijjártó declared.
