Government subsidies of nearly HUF 23 billion have been paid out for over 42,000 jobseekers in the framework of the Support for Business Workforce scheme, state secretary for employment policy Sándor Bodó said on Tuesday on news channel M1.

Subsidies for the first three months after new hires are made in the framework of the scheme range from a monthly HUF 230,000 to HUF 520,000, depending on the age and the qualification of the new hire and for how long they have been registered jobseekers.

In the six months following the initial three-month training period, employers can apply for a monthly subsidy on half of payroll taxes capped at HUF 150,000 per employee.
