Hungary's government has decided to extend pandemic restrictions until March 15, Gergely Gulyás, the head of the Prime Minister's Office, said at a weekly press briefing on Thursday, according to a report by state news wire MTI.
Gulyás said the third wave of the pandemic had reached Hungary, adding that the coming two weeks are expected to be "very difficult" as the number of coronavirus infections rise.
Earlier, the restrictions - which include an evening curfew - had been extended until March 1.
