Opposition agrees to attend Friday vote

Opposition parties Fidesz and KDNP have reconsidered their stance and will take part in Friday’s vote of confidence on PM Ferenc Gyurcsány, Tibor Navracsics, head of the Fidesz parliamentary group, said at a press conference in Budapest today.
The announcement came after President László Sólyom urged the country's opposition earlier today to participate in the vote. “It's expected of opposition MPs to evaluate events related to the foundations of democracy, such as the vote of confidence, in a Parliament session,” Sólyom said in a statement.
Fidesz still plans to organize an anti-government rally outside the legislature on Friday unless Gyurcsány is removed, Navracsics said.
