Gyurcsány initiates vote of confidence
Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány announced on Monday that he would initiate a vote of confidence in Parliament on the government’s program and on his own position.
“Local government elections were held in Hungary yesterday. The largest opposition party won these elections. I congratulate them. Looking at the results, I see that voters expressed their opinion not just about the candidates but also on the government’s policy,” the announcement said.
Gyurcsány called an extraordinary session of Parliament to convene on Friday for the vote.
