Áder meets with leaders of Hungarian autonomy groups in neighboring states
President János Áder on Monday met ethnic Hungarian representatives who are seeking autonomy in neighbouring countries. László Tőkés, a Romanian-Hungarian MEP who heads the Council of Autonomy for Hungarians in the Carpathian Basin (KMAT) and other Council leaders briefed Áder on efforts to secure autonomy for ethnic Hungarian communities in the region and on events related to the Year of Autonomy. The officials underlined the importance of rejecting collective guilt and discussed environmental protection in the Carpathian Basin. József Berényi, the leader of the Party of the Hungarian Community in Slovakia, Miklós Kovács, the head of the Transcarpathian Hungarian Cultural Association and István Pásztor, the leader of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians also participated in the meeting.
