Local Aldi Hungary head promoted to regional exec
Tibor Szekács, the managing director of the Hungarian subsidiary of international food retail chain Aldi, has been promoted to head the German discount chainʼs businesses in five countries across the region, Aldi told Hungarian news agency MTI yesterday.
Bernhard Haider, currently the managing director of one of the companyʼs regional centers in Austria, will take over the Hungarian operation as of January.
Aldi, which currently runs 113 stores in Hungary, along with a distribution and IT support center on the outskirts of Budapest, has invested more than HUF 150 billion in the country over the past ten years. Aldi’s distribution and IT support center provides IT support to all of the 3,500 Aldi Sud stores in Europe, MTI reported.
