As part of the Liget Budapest project, roads in Városliget (City Park) and the public lighting system will be renovated, according to a report by online news site

The HUF 2.5 billion reconstruction will be carried out by construction firm Colas Alterra Építőipari Zrt., which will place 290 new lamp poles along roads and promenades in the area.

Ajtósi Dürer sor and Zichy Mihály út will have new pavements covering some 11,000 sqm. A new canal and electrical network will also be built in the park, which is to feature an area for the blind, a huge rose garden, a new dog park, and an integrated sports ground, reported. The Liget Budapest project aims to transform Városliget into a museum quarter.

The development requires the removal of a number of trees in order to create space for buildings and utility infrastructure, which has raised protests in some quarters since its official approval.
