GTC wins multiple awards in Budapest
GTC Hungary won two prestigious awards at the CIJ (Construction and Investment Journal) annual awards on 7th December, 2006 in Budapest in an event largely dominated by the developer GTC.
GTC Real Estate Development Hungary Zrt (GTC) won the Best Office Development in 2006 and the Best Overall Development in 2006 for their Center Point 2 Office Building. More than 150 of the country's top property players assembled for an evening of dining, entertainment and prize-giving. GTC Hungary, which is a subsidiary of Globe Trade Centre S.A., won two prestigious awards at the CIJ (Construction and Investment Journal) annual awards dinner on Thursday, 7th December in Budapest.
GTC won the award for the Best Office Development in 2006 and the Best Overall Development in 2006 for their Center Point 2 Office Building in Budapest. The Best Office Building Category is the most sought after category in this event and this year the judges found that while there was substantial competition and the short-listed schemes had much going for them, the one that stood out over all the others was Center Point 2 by GTC. Center Point won the award on the strength of the project in all categories under review. GTC was the only company winning more than one award and were clearly dominating the event this year.
Robert Snow, Managing Director of GTC Hungary commented that the philosophy of building an office in a good location and offering tenants flexibility in large floor plates is a recipe for success. Besides GTC’s corporate success, Mr. Snow was also honored with the Personality of the Year, one of the CIJ reader-voted prizes. GTC completed earlier this year their €50 million investment in Center Point, one of the largest and most prominent Class A office buildings in Budapest, on Váci út in District 13, with over 41,000 square meters of net rentable area.
Designed by award winning architects „Zoboki Demeter Associates” (Palace of Arts), the building is successfully leased to major international clients, the foremost tenant being ExxonMobil with 16,500 square meter rented area. The tenant profile includes a list of the world’s top names such as: Allianz Bank, Bunge, GE, Honeywell, Lombard Leasing, Kudos, Nalco, Raiffeisen Bank and Leasing, and VTK. Center Point is a perfect example of how a modern international office building should be built to offer the tenants ultimate space flexibility with minimal occupancy cost in the right location. Within 6 months from completion the building was over 98% leased.
