The two leaders will also hold bilateral talks, added Havasi.

The 2017 World Judo Championships will be held between 28 August and 3 September at the László Papp Budapest Sports Arena in Budapest.

The Russian president is known as a keen follower of judo. Putin co-authored a book on his favorite sport, published in English under the title "Judo: History, Theory, Practice."

According to a 2012 Reuters report, Putin, who holds a black belt in judo, was awarded the eighth dan, one of the sport’s highest honors, by the International Judo Federation (IJF).
