Business analysis supports water polo performance

Vodafone Hungary, in cooperation with Nextent, has developed a water polo analysis system aimed to support the training and preparation of the Hungarian national team, according to a press statement sent to the Budapest Business Journal today.

The system, based on business analysis, is a highly-customizable platform which allows the analysis of water polo games using several parameters, Vodafone Hungary explained. It is also said to give detailed results automatically in connection with training, which makes the preparation of the team much more efficient, according to the telco.

The system can match different games stored in the database, so the performance of a specific game can be compared to the average performance of previous games. The performance of each team can be displayed separately with charts, and it can also be broken down to individual players and action. The details include specific moves too, such as the starting point of an attack, the percentage of ball drops, the direction of the shoot and whether it was a goal. Vodafone plans to further improve the system in order to offer more support and thus help the teams that use it to more victories.

The software developed by Nextent for the Hungarian Water Polo Federation offers the possibility to analyze each game afterwards, but also to set up new tactics between quarters and change players based on their performance. The system greatly improves the speed and efficiency of the game analysis, offering a one-click solution to previously lengthy calculations, Vodafone Hungary promises.
