Financial affairs secretary joins talks between central bank and economy ministry

MNB

State Secretary for Financial Affairs András Kármán, who is also the head of the Home Protection Monitoring Committee, attended the meeting between economy minister György Matolcsy and central bank governor András Simor, reports Realdeal.hu.

The officials discussed issues connected with the stabilisation of the financial system, household debt and the situation of mortgage holders with foreign-currency loans.

The aim of Hungary's central bank MNB is to reduce the burden on mortgage holders and ensure the long-term stability of the financial system, while easing systemic risks, the MNB said in a statement on Monday. The proposals outline preparations for how to distribute risks across institutions, the bank added.
