Government finalizes national bus industry strategy
Hungaryʼs government finalized a national bus production strategy that will support the industry with HUF 30-35 billion over the next three years, National Economy Minister Mihály Varga said Friday at the inauguration of an investment in a bus plant, according to Hungarian news agency MTI.
The government wants to build on Hungaryʼs six big bus makers, expanding capacity and raising headcount in the sector, Varga said at the Kuhne farm machinery plant in Mosonmagyaróvár. The government support will need to be coupled with credit, he added.
The government aims to boost bus production in Hungary to an annual 1,000-1,200 units in three years, Varga said.
Kuhne inaugurated a HUF 600 million, 5,600 sqm production hall at its base.
The Kravtex-Kuhne group turns out 100-120 buses a year but has the capacity to make 500.
