Waberer's plans Ft 1 bln warehouse at BILK

Hungarian logistics company Waberer's Holding Zrt plans to build a Ft 1 billion, 9,600 square meter warehouse at the Budapest Intermodal Logistics Centre (BILK), in which it owns a majority stake, business daily Világgazdaság reported on Monday.

The warehouse will be completed by the end of April, Waberer's owner György Waberer told Világgazdaság. The new space was necessary because BILK's existing 100,000 square meters of warehouse space has all been rented out. By early 2009, Waberer's plans to have built 200,000 square meters of warehouse and office space at BILK, he added.
Speaking about Waberer's foreign units, Waberer said the company would more than double the number of vehicles at its Romanian subsidiary to 200 by the end of year in preparation for the country's EU accession from the start of 2007. It also recently put 50 lorries in operation at its subsidiary in Poland. Waberer's doubled its vehicle purchases in Q1-Q3, buying 573 trucks. It also acquired 130 trucks when it bought Hungarian peer Révész Kft.
