Taisei Corp. will appeal a decision by Budapest's transport authority to disqualify the company from bidding for a contract to drill the Hungarian capital's fourth metro line, business daily Világgazdaság said, citing the company. Taisei said the disqualification over the hiring of a contractor for the works was unlawful. Taisei's bid, along with that of a group led by Bilfinger Berger AG, had been annulled in the tender by transport authority BKV Rt. Hungary's public procurement committee will have 30 days to make a decision on the appeal. A group led by Vinci SA, the world's largest construction company, won a €207.4 million contract to drill the tunnel for the Budapest metro line after beating rival offers from two German-led groups, BKV said yesterday.
