Distribution facilities provider ProLogis announced that it leased 9,400 square meters of warehouse space at ProLogis Park Hegyeshalom to SMR Automotive Mirror Technology Hungary, a supplier of mirrors and blind spot detection systems for all passenger vehicles produced by nearly every carmaker in North America, Europe, Asia and Australia.
SMR Automotive Mirror Technology will occupy 9,400 square meters in the first building at ProLogis Park Hegyeshalom, an industrial park located in western Hungary’s “magic triangle” (between Vienna, Bratislava and Győr), providing easy access to Vienna, Bratislava and Budapest via the M1 and M15 motorways. With this transaction the park is 86% leased, with only a single unit available for leasing.
“We are pleased with our new state-of-the-art warehouse in Hegyeshalom,” said Attila Vass, purchasing nanager for SMR Automotive Mirror Technology Hungary. “The excellent location and ProLogis’ flexible, professional client management were the important factors in choosing this park, which also perfectly suits our specific logistics requirements. Modern design of the warehouse also ensured this was the best choice for our business.”
“ProLogis Park Hegyeshalom is our first development in Hungary outside the Budapest area,” said László Kemenes, market officer for ProLogis in Hungary and Romania. “We believe that this location has great potential to become a new strategic hub of regional logistics activity, as it benefits from being in the vicinity of three markets at the same time - Austria, Hungary and Slovakia. We are proud that our customer service and the facility itself meet the specific requirements of SMR, and are looking forward to a long and fruitful partnership.”
ProLogis Park Hegyeshalom currently comprises one building totaling 23,100 square meters. The potential future development of the park totals five facilities comprising an additional 150,000 square meters of state-of-the-art distribution space. Other ProLogis customers at the park include ETL Hungary and FIEGE.
ProLogis' portfolio in Hungary totals more than 495,000 square meters of warehouse space and includes six parks located in the greater Budapest area (Gyál, Harbor Park, Százhalombatta, Szigetszentmiklós, Budaörs) and Hegyeshalom.
