A Hungarian company is interested in building a hotel complex costing as much as €8 million near the Resavska cave in the Serbian town of Despotovac, Darko Petrovics, the local building official, said.
A three-hectare plot near the cave is being offered for sale for €298,000, but the buyer must promise to start building a hotel complex with combined area of 7,000 square meters within three months of obtaining the necessary permits. The four-star hotel complex with at least 225 rooms must be completed within three years.
The cost of the entire project is estimated to be as much as €8 million.
One Hungarian company and one Czech company have expressed interest in the offer, Petrovic said.
The Hungarian company operates two spas in Hungary, Serbian news agency Tanjug reported.
The Resavska cave draws some 50,000 visitors a year. (MTI – Econews)
