The number of completed homes in the capital fell 33%, according to the new KSH report today.
Hungary's home building market slowed sharply in 2006, with the number of new home building permits issued decreasing 12.9%, and the number of new homes put in use decreasing 17.6% from 2005, the Central Statistics Office (KSH) reported today.
A total of 44,826 new home building permits were issued in 2006, and 33,864 new homes came onto the market. In Budapest alone, the number of home building permits issued decreased 25.4% to 11,514, and the number of completed homes in the capital fell by 33% to 8,239. (Bloomberg)
