Hungary's home construction market continued to show signs of a slowdown in 2005, with the number of new homes coming onto the market down 6.4% from a year earlier while the number of new home building permits issued in the year fell 10.4%, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said on Thursday. The number of new homes completed last year amounted to 41,084, and 51,490 new home building permits were issued in the period. In Budapest, the number of completed homes rose 21.2% in 2005 while the number of home building permits rose 7.6%.
