BudaWest to spend HUF 5 billion to convert airbase into airport

BudaWest Airport Holding plans to spend HUF 5 billion to convert an old airbase in Szentkirályszabadja (NW Hungary) into a civilian airport, board member Csaba Ciraki said.

Preparations costing about HUF 500 million are underway and it is hoped construction will start this year, Ciraki said. The airport is slated to open on September 25, 2010.

BudaWest Holding bought the airbase for HUF 1.2 billion, but it has spent several hundred million forints on planning and acquiring permits over the past year and a half. (MTI – Econews)
