Family-owned Hungarian waste management company Alcufer on Friday inaugurated a HUF 2.2 billion shredder plant in Fehérvárcsurgó.
Alcufer covered 20% of the costs of the investment with a grant from a European Union funding programme, 60% from a bank loan and 20% from its own resources.
The plant, which will staff 44 people, has capacity to shred 100,000 tons of metal a year, managing director Ferenc Horváth told MTI.
Alcufer manages 430,000 tons of waste a year from 14 collection sites, selling the product to partners in Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Italy. It employs about 600 people. (MTI-ECONEWS)
