Ukraine to strengthen ties with NATO

Ukrainian senor officials expressed the country’s willingness to participate in NATO peacekeeping endeavors.

Ukraine is planning to continue its participation in peace-keeping operations conducted by the NATO, the republic’s President Viktor Yushchenko, Speaker of the Supreme Rada Arseny Yatsenyuk, and Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko stated in their letter to the NATO’s General Secretary Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, the press office of the country’s leader reported today.

The letter indicates that Ukraine is willing to cooperate with NATO to combat security threats, and therefore, further participate in military endeavors and anti-terrorism initiatives. (rbcnews)
