Polish government approves draft budget for Year 2008

Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski said on Tuesday the government had approved the draft budget for Year 2008 earlier in the day.

“The draft was adopted and will be submitted to the Sejm (lower house of parliament) within the constitutional deadline,” Kaczynski was quoted by PAP news agency as saying. According to the draft budget, state deficit will reach 28.63 billion zloty ($10.71 billion). Revenues will stand at 281.8 billion zloty ($105.54 billion) while spending is to close at 310.4 billion zloty ($116. 25 billion). According to the constitution, the Polish government is obliged to submit the budget bill to the lower house of parliament by the end of September. (
