Poland sticks to 2009 privatization plans - minister

Poland upheld its plan to raise PLN 12 billion ($4.13 billion) in privatization revenues in 2009, almost six times more than the government expects to earn this year, despite the global economic crisis, a minister said on Monday.

“I maintain that in 2009 we’ll have privatization revenues at 12 billion thanks to the sales of a chemical group, two mines and a stake in Enea (energy firm),” Treasury Minister Aleksander Grad told reporters. (Reuters)
