Hungary’s Prime Minister Ferenc Gyurcsány has asked the government's ministers to reduce energy consumption at the institutions they oversee to a minimum in order to reduce the country's gas consumption, a statement from the Government Spokesman's Office said.
At the same time, the prime minister asked the heads of state-owned companies to find ways to cut back on energy use.
Hungary is drawing most of its gas from commercial stores and reserves after gas imports via Ukraine were halted on Tuesday. (MTI – Econews)
